Better than Botox - Got Wrinkles? Try Cosmetic Acupuncture
~ Chiling Chuang, Licensed Acupuncturist

Would you like to erase 10 to 15 years from your face? Would you like to look younger for your next birthday? In their never-ending quest to combat sags, bags and lines, age-conscious Americans are searching for the antidote to aging. In recent years, people have tried Botox injection and facial surgery despite their high cost and noticeable side-effects. However, a new generation of people is flocking to acupuncture face lifts as an alternative to surgery.

Studies show that among 300 cases treated with acupuncture face lifts, 90 % had marked beneficial results with only one course of treatment (International Journal of Clinical Acupuncture, 1996). Many have discovered cosmetic Acupuncture as a holistic, alternative approach to fighting the aging process. Acupuncture facelifts have even been featured in mainstream media, such as on ABC Television's "Good Morning America" and Public Broadcasting System's “Healthweek”.

The formation of wrinkles is a well-known sign of skin aging. The acupuncture theory, in a nutshell, is that a healthy face is a better looking face. To keep your skin looking beautiful, wrinkle-free, youthful and smooth on the outside, you must work on the inside of your body as well. Acupuncture can actually optimize your general energy and blood flow, which may slow down the non-stop aging process in your body. Plastic surgery and Botulism Toxin injections don't do that. They mask, without correcting, the underlying imbalances.

The use of acupuncture is definitely a natural approach to looking and feeling younger, which addresses the actual causes of skin aging. The treatment is far less expensive, natural and safe. You will start to see a difference in your appearance after five to 10 treatments. Fifty treatments are equivalent to the look you achieve with a surgical facelift. However, every person's body chemistry is different; younger patients may only require a month-and-a-half worth of treatments, while older ones will probably require treatments over three to four months.

A 40-minute session costs about $70-150, depending on your place of treatment. The special needles used are the size of a human hair and the exquisite acupuncture technique is required during treatment for avoiding bruises on the face. Cosmetic Acupuncture is virtually risk-free and there are none of the side effects of face lift surgery, lasers and injections including: numbness, scarring, toxicity, possible atrophy and lengthy recovery time. Your face will never look stretched, burned, puffy or "banded".

Acupuncture can retighten those muscles below the skin, returning the face to a healthier, revitalized and youthful appearance. In addition to enhancing skin appearance, most people are pleased to find that their sinus problems, headaches, toothache, TMJ, PMS and menopause have either disappeared or their symptoms have been distinctly improved. You will not only look younger, but also feel younger.

If you don't want to take the risk of potentially serious side effects of surgeries or injections on your face -- consider cosmetic acupuncture.
